Founded in the late 1920s by Ole Hanson and affectionately referred to as the "Spanish Village by the Sea," the city of San Clemente is paradise on earth to the proud residents who live there. With an ideal mix of custom estates, historic downtown homes and newer golf course communities, San Clemente real estate caters to outdoor enthusiasts, especially those who always seem to have a surf board handy.

With miles of some of the most outstanding surfing beaches on the coast, San Clemente has been coined by many as Orange Countys surf mecca. Beach breaks from the "204" and the Pier, to T-Street, Riviera and State Park  - all producing quality waves on a consistent basis. Trestles, another popular beach known for its amazing surf conditions, is world renowned and one of the finest point breaks anywhere.

Complimenting the beaches, San Clemente is home to a thriving surf industry with eleven surf shops and over a dozen major surf industry manufacturers.  Additionally, the Surfrider Foundation, five renowned surf camps and schools plus five of the worlds most prestigious surf publications also call San Clemente and the surrounding area home.

The Pier bowl area has something exciting for everyone from savory cafes, and stylish shops to family-oriented year-round activities. In fact, a host of exciting festivals unites the community throughout the year, including the San Clemente Ocean Festival, San Clemente Seafest, The Taste of San Clemente and the ever popular Fiesta Street Festival.

Another unique feature of the community is Casa Romantica, a magnificent Spanish Colonial Revival building completed in 1928 by Ole Hanson, one of the founders of San Clemente. Currently undergoing restoration, Casa Romantic will be the future site of performing and visual arts, educational programs, and world-class gardens.

With the appeal of the award winnin Capistrano School District, the stunning Talega Golf Course, picturesque beaches fit for the most dedicated surfer plus a quaint community feel, you will see why the city of San Clemente is one of Orange Countys best kept secrets.
